GMC Customers Drawn to Terrain and Acadia

The minivan used to be the ubiquitous family car - room enough for the kids, the dog, and all of their stuff, while also being safe and reliable. Except, as the definition of a 21st century family changes, so do the cars they ride in, right? Exactly. Combining the easy handling of a regular car and the roomy interior and cargo space of an SUV, the CUV is the perfect family vehicle. Of course, if an SUV is more your style, GMC offers a gas-sipping SUV, too.
GMC has been hard at work perfecting both their popular crossover and their small SUV, and the proof is in the pudding: over half of the people who have invested in a GMC Terrain or GMC Acadia in 2011, have switched from non-GM and non-domestic brands. It keeps getting better with sales of the Acadia up 18.6 percent, and the Terrain up 47.3 percent this year!
The smaller (and younger) of the two, the GMC Terrain, is the perfect combination of safety, quality, and power. Buyers can choose between the 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, direct-injected engine that pumps out 182 ponies of power; or the 264-hp, 3.0-liter, direct-injected V6. So it doesn't matter what you load the Terrain up with - this powertrain won't drag. What about safety? With curtain airbags, stability control and a rearview camera as standard equipment, it's not a surprise that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the SUV a four-star rating, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named it a Top Safety Pick.
The Acadia, bigger and a bit more powerful (3.6-liter V6, 288-hp), has enough room for seven or eight passengers - including a storable three-child bench seat in the back. With the second and third rows of seats stowed away, the Acadia boasts an impressive 115 cubic feet of cargo space. The NHTSA and the IIHS also recognized the safety of the CUV, both agencies giving it their highest safety ratings. It also comes with curtain airbags and stability control, and a rearview camera is optional. It's also available in the Denali trim level, which adds a DVD player, mahogany trim, heated and cooled front seats, leather upholstery and USB/Bluetooth connectivity to the already well-equipped interior.
We think Brian Sweeney, U.S. VP of GMC Sales and Service sums both models up best when he says, "The Acadia and Terrain are industry leaders in both design and technology. Consumers are taking notice, as evidenced by each model's sales increase through the first 11 months of 2011."1
That said, we invite you to come on down to Saint Johnsbury Buick GMC to see why so many people are switching to GMC. We're located at 500 Memorial Drive, Saint Johnsbury, VT.
