General Motors posted a twenty percent gain in sales for September 2011, when compared to last year. Leading the pack is trustworthy GMC - which witnessed huge sales figures of its own this past month thanks to pickups and crossovers.

GMC's growth of 28% in September 2011 is a huge improvement over 2010. GMC Yukon was a top model, seeing a growth of 67% for the XL, and over 44% for the base. The all new GMC Terrain came in with 44.7% higher numbers in September as well.

GMC Sierra was the top model in terms of units sold, with 13,904 trucks. GMC Acadia also had a good month, with 5,287 vehicles sold.

"General Motors can only expect things to continue to improve, provided that the industry as a whole continues at this healthy rate," adds Torque News.¹
